Return Battery Backup with Old Bad RG?
Old modem (RG?) went bad (Model 3801HGV) AT&T sent a replacement which I installed and everything's fine. BUT the printed instructions say to return the old power cord with the old Wi-Fi Gateway Modem.
PROBLEM: there is no old power cord. The old modem was plugged directly into a Belkin Battery Backup unit (Model BU3DC001-12V). If I understand correctly, this battery backup unit accompanied corded Uverse home phone service we no longer have, so we don't need it.
QUESTION: Since the instructions request the return of the power cord, should I return the Belkin Battery Backup Unit instead, there being no "old power cord"? The instructions also say, of course, "Please do not return other devices."

UPS won't take the old BBU, just the RG. They replaced my old RG and BBU with the newer RG with internal BBU. I took the old modem to UPS and when I was looking for a battery for the new RG at a Batteries+ store, they kindly took the old BBU off my hands.
