Quit client - 2nd Uverse box will not start after power lost to gateway

I had to unplug our main box and gateway to do some work on floors. When I restarted everything, I keep getting a quit client message on the 2nd tv. Both boxes are wired. I have also had this oroblem after a power outage. I tried unplugging the affected box, unplugging 3 times in succession, holding power for 10 seconds to restart and restarting the gateway and unplugging the gateway.

There should be more to the message other then "Quit Client", If you see something that states "Client Initialization Error, Quit Client" then that means there is a wiring issue between the RG and the STB.

Depending on your setup (COAX or Ethernet) you would need to reseat the wiring.

For COAX make sure to unscrew it from the back of the STB and from the back of the RG and screw it back in, if there is multiple STBs on COAX make sure to check the splitters and do the same unscrew and rescrew back on.

For Ethernet you just need to unplug the cord from the back of the STB and from the RG, you can change the port used on the back of the RG as well.

The error says "att Uverse tv is not available at this time. Please try again later". Also the link light is off. Any ideas?

Yes, as the previous reply says, your box is not communicating with the RG and cannot authorize with AT&T and connect up with the DVR box, etc.  Something is funny with the cabling that connects it to the RG, either it got damaged when you were moving things around, or disconnected on the far end.  Assuming you've thoroughly checked the cable connections and the cable in between and you see no issues, then...

You can try disconnecting your TV receivers and the RG from power, then connecting the RG and the receivers up after that.

You can also try moving the cable to a different port on the RG.
