Outage

I have UVERSE and I live in Pearland, TX.  During the storm, the lights went out and the UVerse Modem did not come back on.  I don't have a TV signal and the internet doesn't work.  Can you tell me if there is an outage in the area near*****.  My phone number is [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.].

@bweining  If you have a smartphone, download the my att app, you can report outages and see updates to repair status. 😉

Download the myAT&T App and click Fix It Now! Support Tools to get U-verse help.

We also had an outage today and it reminded me that we are unable to watch recorded content when uverse is down through no fault of our own.  Why is that??  It's not like the recordings are in the cloud, because they are sitting locally on my dvr.  So why can't I watch them?  It seems like the perfect fix for someone whose uverse goes down to at least have acess to their recordings.

Anyone know the problem here?

Because of their agreements with the content providers, AT&T wishes to make sure you don't record anything on your DVR and then take it somewhere else (e.g. a bar) and play back the content.  To do this, the DVR checks in to be sure that you're authorized and on your home network before letting you play content.

I find it a pain as well.  Charter cut our AT&T line when reinstalling a drop for our neighbor a few weeks ago, so we were out for a while (but less than a day) before AT&T could repair our line.  We could have watched recordings, but...
