New TV, Who dis?

I just purchased a new television and I cannot get cable on this TV. The TV is mounted on the wall, the cable box is on, the router and modem are connected. I can access internet from my phone when mobile data is off. The TV is connected to wifi, I've verified by watching YouTube. How to I resolve this? I have powered every thing down and started turning things on one at a time, modem...router...cable set top box. I'm confused, please help.

Are you saying that you cannot access your Uverse STB?  How is the UV receiver connected to the TV?  Check your TV owner's manual on setting the input on the TV to coincide with the connection you made.  Most likely HDMI but most new TVs have multiple HDMI connections (HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3).
