New Install - Uverse Equipment Low Quality?

Switched to Uverse the other day (haven't had it since about 2013), but feel as though the equipment we received is extremely dated.  It seems as though this equipment is worse than what we had 6 years ago.  Do I have up-to-date equipment?  Should I be requesting something else.

Things I've seen so far:

- Range on wifi is terrible 

- Picture freezes constantly

-TV remotes don't support RF?!?  They only do IR, which surprises me.  Every other provider does RF and I was pretty certain our remotes back in 2013 did with Uverse


Received the following:

-DVR - Motorola VIP2262V2

-TV boxes - Cisco IPN330HD-SG-A

-WiFI Gateway - MotorolaNVG589

Hello @manderson, let’s get your issues addressed.

In terms of your question about the equipment, yes all equipment received is up to date. You will receive specific equipment for the package you’re signed up for.

Let’s troubleshoot the issues you’re currently experiencing.

Wi-Fi range and connectivity can vary from device to device, however there are troubleshooting steps you can take in order to resolve most common Internet and Wi-Fi issue found on our forums post.

In regards to the picture freezing, since you’re subscribed to U-Verse, troubleshooting the Wi-Fi will resolve the receiver issues as well. If you’re still having issues with your Wi-Fi, you may have to purchase Wi-Fi extenders, such as Airties to better help with connectivity in your house.
