Motorola 1200 receiver problems

Are the Motorola 1200 receivers even get refurbished before being recycled back to a customer? The latest replacement I received about a month ago is already bad. The one before that I believe lasted less than a year. Are there any other options instead of these old receivers?

AT&T U-verse has way fallen off. somehow instead of the Cisco receivers they have for some sad reason changed over to Motorola. those receivers are trash in comparison.

for example with the Motorola vip1200 models there is a buzzing feedback sound every time you turn any HD channel and while the actual channel is playing. I dont recall The Cisco IPN models having this bad of a problem.

AT&T U-verse Representatives refuse to listen  and send me the older Cisco ipn330hd model or try to reactivate my older cisco receiver. This is proof that as time goes on things don't automatically get better.

Let's see what we can do to get your U-Verse receiver working for you, @1Nonvalued_customer!

Here are some useful steps you can take to try and troubleshoot your receiver.

We hope the information helps. Let us know how it goes!

@1Nonvalued_customer

The 1200 is one of the original hardwired settop boxes, but regardless there’s been no new hardware for many years now.   Att may try to charge you extra for a wireless capable box, so CAVEAT EMPTOR.

IIRC, the VIP1200 is not an "upgrade."  It is "original equipment," i.e. one of the first models used.  The Cisco models came later.

AT&T probably hasn't ordered a new receiver in 5 years.  They're refurbing returned ones.

This proves that AT&T representatives and former Representatives don't read or think clearly.

I said that they upgraded to that receiver because that is what they now have versus what they used to have.  if the Cisco receiver is what they used to have and AT&T refuses to send me a non Motorola receiver, apparently they feel as though they upgraded to the Motorola vip1200.

This is just further evidence that AT&T refuses to acknowledge that they are shipping out and sending customers trash equipment.

Easy. If they keep sending you old stuff, send it back. I haven't had a silver Motorola box in years and I've exchanged a few times since then.

No former representatives have posted in this thread.

In the future, please don't respond to threads over a year old.

Of course I send them back. they are claiming that they only have Motorola vip1200. they tell me different lies from different times.

AT&T is trash
