I NEED TO RECORD MY DOCUMENTARY ON PBS ON TUESDAY JAN 23 HELP
Hey all I have Uverse and a documentary I will be in is set for Tues Jan 23rd. How could I get the recording off of the DVR and onto my MAC?

In a week? Normally I would recommend you researching devices from Hauppauge, or using an antenna that can receive you local PBS and using a OTA dvr, or a VCR attached to your att dvr or receiver (not going to be HD with that). But these are all hardware solutions and not something you should rush into without doing some additional research (well, I guess using a vcr takes no research).
The only immediate idea that comes to mind is calling PBS to see if they plan to sell that show on dvd (I think they do that for some of their series). Or convenience them that since you are in it maybe to give you a complementary copy.
In summary to answer you specific question, how to transfer the dvr recording to your Mac? There is no direct method.
