How Do I Connect U-Verse Wireless Receiver to Nest/Google Mesh WIFi?

Setup of Nest/Google Mesh WiFi want exceedingly well.  We now have very fast internet all over.

Just one problem:  I cannot get the the AT&T U-Verse Wireless Receiver (Cisco ISB7005 Internet Protocol Set Top Box)  to connect to my new network.  The only workable solution so far has been to reconnect the original AT&T WiFi access point (Cisco VEN401-AT) to the AT&T Gateway (Arris NVG589)

So now I have two wireless networks running which was not the plan.  How can I connect the wireless receiver to my Nest/Google Mesh WiFi?

You cannot. The wap sets up a dedicated private WiFi network for the wireless stb’s. None of your wireless devices will see or use the other network.

Hey @DiscoDave2000,

We are here to help with your Wi-Fi setup. When you originally setup your mesh network did you plug one of the mesh nodes directly into the Gateway, and disable the AT&T Gateway's Wi-Fi?

To turn off the Wi-Fi inside the gateway:

  1. Open up a web browser
  2. In the address bar type 192.168.1.254
  3. Type in username and password
    • Username is admin
    • Password is the Access Key or A/C located on the Gateway.
  4. Go to the Wi-Fi tab.
  5. Disable the Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz & 5.0 GHz)
    • May need to go into advanced settings located on the bottom right.
  6. Save Settings.
  7. Exit.

This should give you only one Wi-Fi network (your mesh network)

Let us know if this helps.

So in this case the WAP is still connected to a LAN port on the Gateway and the wireless TV receivers are connected  if Wi-Fi inside the gateway is off?

I am asking since I have two wireless TV receivers through the WAP which is connected to a LAN Port on the Gateway and one non-wireless TV receiver connected to a LAN point on the AT&T Gateway.  I want to connect a google wi-fi mesh network which only has one LAN port. so I want to know if I leave the TV setup in place on the Gateway or buy a switch and move it to the google wi-fi?  Your input is appreciated.
