Actually for most network programming the current seasons shows appear within a few days of airing. They dont stay forever so you must watch them fairly quickly. As for other networks, i.e. cable channels, they vary in if and when they appear.
You certainly can if you have Dish and their wireless receiver. I did it several times! They store deleted files in a "deleted folder" on the receiver for a period of time (days) before they are deleted and it is easy to recover them from there. I'd like to know if ATT/Directv has lacking technology for this. I switched to Directv for a few dollars per month less and am starting to regret it.
Yea Uverse for sure doesn't allow that, and the on demand and uverse.com is garbage. You are better off going to the channel the show was on and logging in with your uverse credentials.

Not on the DVR, but go to " On Demand " and hit " Free Shows " and see if they're there.
Might take a week to show up, and you can't FF through commercials.
