Why doesn't AT&T notify subs of updates being pushed?
This past Monday we suddenly became aware that our DVR was not recording pre-scheduled programs (series). When we checked....the schedules were still active...but nothing was being recorded. I went back to my computer room, where our DVR STB is located, and performed a power-off reboot. As soon as the reboot was completed the DVR began recording, on its own, and we've had no further problem since then. Now....the only thing I can think of is that AT&T pushed through an update to the boxes.....did not reboot them....and did not message us subscribers about the update with instructions for US to perform the reboots.
My wife noticed that no red indicator lights were on during a program that was supposed to be recording. That is what alerted us to the problem.
Rebooting is no big chore but AT&T should post a message on the screen so when we turn the TV on the next morning we are made aware of what happened.
