Samsung Remote Control and AT&T

Assuming a BN59-01223A is a IR remote there is no way wireless devices could possibly interfere with that remote.

Hello @StavrosP,

How is the remote acting funny?  What is it doing/not doing?  What is the remote model number?

Thank you for your questions and have a good day.

None of the functions will work ( Volume, fast forward, Pause, Stop etc... (Mostly when watching Netflix , Amazon Prime ) these functions will stop working for a few minutes, then will work again, but then stop again on and off- and there are days when it will not have any issues, I don't know if this related but this all started occurring when we had our U-verse installed ( with wireless Boxes upstairs)

The Samsung remote is BN59-01223A

Hello @StavroasP,

Your UVERESE should not affect this device at all.  Try replacing the batteries.

Thank you for accessing the Community Forums, and have a terrific weekend.

@StavrosP - I would also have to say, there should be no connection. You could try removing the batteries from the Uverse remote. It's possible it is defective or has a "button down" condition that is flooding the room's InfraRed spectrum with pulses, thus confusing the TV when you use the Samsung remote.

Yes definitely replace the batteries in the Samsung Remote, as the ATTCares person has indicated. In this case, you may be attributing causality because the batteries were getting low at about the same time the Uverse equipment was installed.

Your remote could be giving up the ghost. They are *cheap* on ebay!

Report back.

The first thing I did when this problem occurred was replace the Batteries -But it didn't help- could the wireless signal from the box transmitting to the Wireless Boxes for the TV's upstairs cause this Interference?

I have a similar issue.  I connected my Uverse cable box to my Samsung 6 series UN55NU6900 model using an HDMI cable

The Uverse remote will not turn on and off the TV, it will only change the channel using the up and down button.  Cannot get the info button to work to show what is on.  The channel guide does not work.  The volume will work for the soundbar. Cannot turn on the DVR and cannot get the menu to see what has been recorded or watch any recorded shows.

So we have to use 2 remotes (the Samsung remote to turn on and off, the Uverse remote for changing the channels.  NO access to the DVR or channel guide.

I have tried to program the Uverse remote by pressing TV - enter with no luck. Any hint on how to get the Uverse remote to function with this Samsung TV?

Thanks.

I have tried to program the Uverse remote by pressing TV - enter with no luck.

The att remotes always control the att dvr's and receivers.  No programing is needed for them.  But it looks to me that you didn't program the att remote for that tv model properly or the att remote doesn't support that model tv.  Did you follow the instructions for your att remote in your att remote user guide?  If you don't have the guide you can get a pdf from here.

Since you didn't mention which att remote model you are using (S10, S20, S30) all I can suggest that if the programming code is not in the remote's manual you will need to do a google search for "5-digit remote codes for Samsusung UN55NU6900" if you have a S20/S30 remote.  If you have a S10 remote do a "4-digit remote codes for Samsusung UN55NU6900".  Maybe you will find a code that works.  If not you will have to do what you have been doing, i.e., use the uverse remote for the dvr/receiver and the samsung remote for the tv.
