receiver to new room
Can I move a receiver to a different room that it was set up in? I moved the receiver from downstairs to a bedroom. Is the whole house not connected?

There are two types of receivers.
Wireless. As long as it's close enough to the WAP, you're good to go.
If it's a wired receiver or a DVR, it must have an incoming coax or ethernet cable attached.

There is going to be a limit to how far a wireless settop can be from the wireless access point, so you can’t just ask is the whole house connected and assume the answer is yes. There are lights on the front of the box typically to indicate signal strength. Might need to look carefully as they are somewhat discrete as to not be too distracting. Three bars or less will typically be a fail.
