U-verse mobile app problems

Since I updated the U-verse mobile app on both my iPhone and iPad the Live TV section does not work keeps saying "U-verse mobile service it temproarily unavailable. Please try again later. (Error # 996-8138-5802baaea708)

Is there any fix for this or is this update garbage?

Hi bcarruth62,

 

I apologize about the issues you are having with the mobile app. Hopefully, the following steps will help get it connected once agian:

 

  • Try to uninstall/reinstall the app. 
  • Make sure you are on the latest IOS
  • Make sure you are connected to your U-verse wireless connection, you may want to try to disconnect/connect again.

bcarruth62 - just tried it & uverse for ipad worked for me. Maybe a systemic problem was fixed. If it still does not work try a reload. I updated a while back. uverse for iphone is blocked on ipad.

An error occured while attempting to prepair stream

 

(ExitLiveChanneiID = 906113, channelID =11294, callsign = STZHD).

Request for next airing show recieved outside of limits.[Error #: (1122)-bfd5-6c5bb21393f3]

I just bough a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Note 2014 Edition. Im try to watch live TV and keep getting streamg error on ALL channels. I have reinstalled, rebooted, cleaned cache. All my software is up to date... All other features of the App work

 

I think I need some help

Have had problem for 3 days now. Can't use on iPad (os 7) or on iPhone (OS 6). Tried to reinstall. Doesn't work. 30 min on tech support they can't help me. Really frustrating that I pay extra for the service and can't use it now that I'm on vacation. Vacations over now and sitting here with no TV access. 😡

Hello David

I've done all your suggestions:

1. uninstalled and reinstalled the app

2. shut down and restart the devices

3. disconncted and connected to wifi

4. checked OS and it's IOS 7.0.4 (latest one)

 

Still getting the following msg:

"The U-verse mobile service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.(Error#: (996)--b710-367e6e50a4ce)

 

I downloaded the same app on my son's new Android phone and put in the same userid and password I'm using on my devices and the app worked perfectly so it looks like it is an IOS device issue.

Any other suggestions?

I'm seeing similar behavior since the last update.  When I disconnect wifi I'm able to set recordings by using the mobile data network.  When connected to wifi I cannot.  I have no issues with wifi using other apps.

 

I'd like to get this fixed and would like your input.

 

Not sure if the other users here  experiencing this have attempted with wifi turned off.

 

When attempting to set a recording with wifi on I receive the error: 'unable to contact server. Please try again later.'

 

When selecting to view live TV I receive error:  'An unknown error occurred. UVM Status Code: SERVICE_UNHANDLED_EXCEPTION.'  If I attempt this with wifi diconnected I get the error 'must be connected to home network' even though I've turned off the data usage restrictions in Uverse mobile.

 

The app displays my recorded shows but but tapping to select any show also yields the unable to contact server error.

 

The remote control app which relies on wifi works.

 

I have an HTC One with 4.3.  I've recently rebooted and also removed and reinstalled the uverse app with no success. 

 

The the Uverse mobile app had been a selling point of Uverse service.  I'd like to get this fixed.

The update today to Uverse app solved my problems

when I loaded the application ATT Uverse for tablets I encounter the same issue with my samsung tab 3 when streaming videos I received  failed to authenticate Open Video error (606).

 

when I loaded the ATT Uverse for Android I can only play Disney Channel's the other channels will stream but no sound.

I can stream on my iphone.  However, I would like to know why I can watch CNN on my computer in my office (which is not on my home network) but I cannot watch CNN on my iphone while I'm sitting in my office.  Why is it offered as live TV on uverseonline.att.net but not via the uverse iphone app?

I was recieving a similar error and could not access the u-verse mobile app whatsoever.  The error kept stating "U-verse mobile service is temproarily unavailable. Please try again later."  This was very frustrating as I was using the app for many days with only minor troubles that were cured by clearing app data or reinstalling.

 

This new error occurred after I updated my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to the latest Android software.  I attempted to clear the application data as well as uninstall and reinstall the application several times to no avail.  I was connected via wifi to the 2wire residential gateway and could not, for the life of me, figure out why this application would not work. 

 

I uninstalled the application one last time and left it uninstalled. As a last ditch effort I decided to do a hard reset of my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, back to factory defaults.  After the tablet finished booting up, and Google Backup finished restoring most of my applications, I hesitantly reinstalled the uverse app from the google play store.  Viola!  It works!

 

I'm not sure if uverse failed because of a bad crash it could not recover from, or because I updated my tablet, but the hard reset seemed to cure all ills.  I will refrain from updating the tablet for now.

I was able to fix this problem for a short amount of time with a total hardware reset of my tablet.  But now it seems the problem has cropped up yet again -- this time with a vengeance.  Unless the network is actually down on the server side?

 

I tried to reset my tablet yet again with to fix this issue -- with no luck.  The odd thing is I tried to load the application on another tablet with similar results.  It's almost as if i've been IP banned altogether.  Please, ATT, hurry up with a solution.  I'm a paying customer going without service.

Researching this issue I came to the conclusion that the error resided with my residential gateway or router.  For some reason I believe my device was listed several times in my network devices under the router.  This confused the network and application and gave the error which made the application unavailible.  The network simply didn't know which device was my actual device. 

 

To solve this I simply cleared application data, uninstalled the application, disabled wifi on my tablet and powered off the device for the night until the next morning.  In the morning I powered on the device and turned wifi back on, reinstalled the application and it all worked flawlessly.

 

If you don't have 8 hrs or longer to power off wifi of the tablet or phone then you can alternatively try clearing the device list of the router and rebooting the router.by going to this page http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_5_7
