I agree it's mixed at best.  Most all the streaming apps that require ISP authentication still refer to us as ATT Uverse users.  This forum also still refers to Uverse btw, as does the app on my iPhone and the apps on my AFTV and tablet.  Oh, and of course there's always the venerable logo when booting up the settop boxes.

To me it's a don't care.

In general the IPTV technology works very well for me.  What doesn't work so well is streaming Uverse to devices other than settop boxes.  For instance within Windows which is what this thread originally started off about.  However sometimes having slight choppy streaming is better than having no streaming at all.

Thank you very much for explaining AT&T is yet again, failing as a "service" provider. This is a huge deal to me!!!! I use my laptop as an easily mobile tv. Here I was complaining that AT&T didn't offer all channels and all DVR programs. It didn't cross my mind that you could be so backwards as to offer NO channels and NO DVR programs. Going to each channel's online programming, if it exists, as if that is an equivalent option, is ridiculous. I am very, very, very disappointed to say the least.

AT&T, please know that many more people think the same. They just don't want to go to the trouble of signing up for the community ... community of losers that is. (I'm normally a very polite, positive person but this is just idiocy!!!)

My high-rise switched from another carrier to AT&T. I didn't pay attention at the time, but I definitely will be paying attention when the contract runs out. With the other service, you could watch every channel offered as well as all DVR programs. I might start a petition to break the AT&T contract. Let's pay up and get a service that actually offers basic amenities. Please reconsider AT&T. If I were a single payer, this alone would be enough to overlook AT&T as an option.

I was already considering changing back to Xfinity and this did it. I just re-installed the Uverse app on my FireTV the other day and the live TV channel list is VERY small compared to when you login via browser. I logged in with the same credentials and don't have access to the same channels- what kinda crap is that? All I wanted to do was to continue watching BeiN Sports. AT&T was lucky and held on to me because PS Vue dropped BieN Sports but this is a dumb decision if you won't even have everything available across the board.

They just set themselves up to lose even more customers

I use a MacBook Air to stream my u-verse content. None of the (dis-)service people I talked with in 3 different attempts could even locate this announcement. So, step 1 was convincing them it is there. When I told them the screen on my iphone is 2x3 inches - way too small to actually watch anything - they had nothing to say. A tech person said I could use a fire-wire to connect my phone to the computer, but it turns out that won't work. Sorry, AT&T I have an "old" iphone. Hey. It works. Lastly, they sent me an email with a link to ITunes saying there would be a downloadable app, even though I told them there wasn't one. And there isn't one. I'm so fed up with AT&T. Zero results in the attempts to communicate with someone about the. They refused to make a Case # or to start an "escalation." Instead, I got a low-level "manager," who was less than useful.

It will cost me $180 to get out of the rest of my cable subscription with this useless corporation. It will be money well spent. I'm open to suggestions of other cable providers (or cord-cutting ideas) from any other outraged readers.

I have had a couple of calls into customer service on this topic. I have been a customer of ATT Gigapower and uVerse for about 8 months.  Streaming on my home office PC was and is a requirement for me.  Either ATT provide a Windows app or continue to support browser streaming.  On November 1st I will be calling to cancel my service with ATT as uVerse is no longer acceptable to me.  The ATT support reps in the uVerse and Gigapower area were clueless to this change.  I probably spent more than two hours on the phone with them and wound up explaining their own announcement.  Get ready for a fight ATT!

BTW/  The new DirectTV solution does not have a Windows app either.

Can anyone explain why after today we will no longer be able to watch Uverse Tv on PC's? I work from home and I don't have room in my office for a tv so I have been using my personal computer to stream U-verse for a while now. When this leaves, it will take away a valuable service from me. My smartphone and tablet are too small for me to effectively watch tv while I work. Was there ever a reason provided for this change? I think it is a great disservice to customers.

Thanks,

It's looks like AT&T has done a dreaded "revamp" of their website as of 1 Nov 2017.

The online Uverse TV Guide has vanished from http://uverse.com/uv/guide

Where now can we find the UVerse TV Program Guide on the website?

Thanks

I have poor eyesight.  It is easier for me to check the TV guide online and watch all my shows through the online Uverse website.  Now I have to go to each tv channel website in order to watch a show and there is no online guide to see what is on TV.  I would like to know why this change was made.  I am now a very unhappy customer and I am considering switching providers.

I knew the "Live TV" option was going away today. I don't remember reading that the entire Uverse.com site was going along with it though. I liked the TV listings on the site because it was a nice dark blue color too.

It looks like ATT is moving toward support of only mobile devices.  How far will they take this?  Will we eventually not be able to log in to myATT from a computer? Man Mad

As for looking at schedules there's plenty of websites that you can configure for the different cable carriers.   One I can recommend is TitanTV.com.  It's a bit of a pain to configure (setting up the desired channels) but once you do it remembers the configuration (need to register of course to do that -- its free).

Another similar pretty good site is Zap2It.  You can google for others.

You will have to vote with your wallet.

So the deed is done.  Uverse.com is no more.    Smiley Frustrated

ATT doesn't give a {edited for word filter evasion} about Windows users.  On my numerous calls to the UVerse support experts - they were clueless and I had to show them the notice!

It'd gone and later this week I will go to the Comcast xFinity office.

I would like to know where the guide went as well.    The guide was really helpful especially when I want to DVR one show because I'll be watching something else, or if I won't be home.   Yes, I know we could probably do that through the app, but the Guide is much easier to view on my computer rather than on my phone.

I contacted the horrible AT&T customer service about this problem back on October 1st (for the first time) when the message began appearing stating that the live stream would only be available on "devices" but NOT desktops.  I have a vision problem and cannot see a cell phone screen.  After speaking to over seven different customer services agents I was assured by one who said his name was Byron that we would be receiving an email BEFORE November 1st telling us a NEW web address that would allow us to view the channel/program line-up and ultimately be able to stream live channels.

I never received any email - did anyone else?

I contacted AT&T  early this morning and when the agent could not answer my questions they ended the chat by shutting off or rebooting my services (cable, internet, phone) TWICE in less than 60 minutes.
