Getting user not authorized errors when trying to stream from devices

I am a Uverse U300 subscriber and should have the ability through my subscription to stream content from many providers using my computer on provider websites. I should be able to download provider apps on my roku, att smartphone and my ipad. Up until Thursday Dec 7 I had no problems doing so. Since then I have been getting errors when I attempt to stream programs on all these devices. The error messages all state that I am not authorized or my plan does not cover the programming selected.Examples of the providers are ESPN, USA Network, SY-FY Network, TNT, The CW, STARZ and Showtime. All of these are included in my cable package and are listed on ATT.com as services I have streaming access to.

I have cleared the cookies and cache in my browser. Tried multiple browsers. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the apps on ipad, smartphone and roku.

For example, I open WatchESPN and select the show currently airing on ESPN. ESPN opens a window for me to select my cable provider. I select ATT Uverse and am directed to ATT where I sign in with my access id. I am then returned to ESPN when then attempts to validate my permissions and I ge the not authorized error. I follow the same process and get the same error for all those providers listed and others not listed.

I have spent hours over multiple days both online in chat and on the phone trying to get this access issue resolved. My id have been synched multiple times and does not solve the issue. I have been told that the provider was doing maintenance and access would return - it did not. I was told multiple times there was a service outage causing the issue and it would be fixed. Still didn't correct the issue.

Anyone else experiencing this? Found a solution? Got other ideas to workaround the problem?

I am trying to cancel my U300, which I was not intended to subscribe- THEY CHanged without my knowledge. I am not watching tv much, just local channels.  ATT has a broken customer service system; reps were answering from outside of the US. They have VERY minimal roles - can't do change or cancel your plan,  they are just verifying your name/passcode, and they can't do anything.  I asked to transfer another rep who can do make changes/cancellation. "I can't transfer to other reps."  - It is a joke. It is the lowest experience ATT Provides to their customers.

The one just replying to your post here ATT, he/she said, call them multiple times until you get reps who are inside the states.  They ***** - charging your cell phone bill without the intention to address or fix issues - HORRIBLE!

I apologize the att reps can not get past the screen without verifying if there was a passcode or question set up. If you do not know what this was they should have an option if the primary number on your account match what they have, they can make an outbound call if they can contact you on that number they are able to change that passcode   to help you further

Its 9/2020 and i am having this same issue with the most recent updated 4k UHD firestick. I cant log into my TNT account without getting an error. I am fully authorized to stream every channel through Att Tv Now and I can't get this ONE to work for me. Very frustrating. I've just been streaming from my att tv now app directly to the TV when i want to watch TNT. annoying but that's the only way it works for me.

Thanks for your question, @misscheech!

With AT&T TV Now, we have a lot of Third-Party apps available to stream but not every channel is available.

For the example you gave with TNT, it does not seem to be on our list of channels with third-party streaming capabilities. We are always updating our list of Compatible Network Apps and Websites so feel free to check back with us for updates!

If you have any other questions, let us know!

Hello @Ccurlin2015,

Let’s get your entertainment back.

We would like to begin with a few clarifying questions.

  • Are you an AT&T Uverse TV customer or do you have another one of our TV services?
  • Are you able to access Oxygen and NBC on any other devices?
  • Are you able to access any other channels on the firestick?
  • What package do you have?

While we await your response we recommend the following.

  • Delete the app and reinstall
  • Reset the firestick
  • Check out Amazons support page for their Fire products

We hope this helps @Ccurlin2015, we look forward to hearing from you.

Its June 2021 and I cannot watch TNT app on Roku through DIRECTV sign in. An agent has mentioned that we cant watch TNT through third parties. But have not said why or how I would be able to.
