Firestick

We have 4 Amazon TV firesticks, 3 are connected via network wire.

On 2 of them, I can watch ESPN on ATT Uverse app, the other ones I get ESPN playback authorization failed,

please try later (ES1004:403), I can watch using ESPN app. Any ideas?

Thanks

Fred

Hey, @frednies.

Thanks for reaching out. We'd be glad to help you stream your U-verse service.

Are both the fire sticks getting the error connected by Ethernet? Were they working normally before? We'd recommend restarting your receiver(s) to resend authorizations. To do this, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. This takes 5-8 minutes and will impact any DVR recordings in progress. If you have multiple receivers, reboot your wireless gateway by unplugging it from its power source. Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in.

Let us know if this helps!

Hi,

We have 2 firesticks a couple of months old that are wired to the network, I can stream all paid Att uverse channels. I recently bought 2 more firesticks, 1 is connected by wire to network, the other is WiFi. I can not stream any ESPN channels on those 2 units. I get error: " ESPN playback authorization failed, Please try again (ES1004:403)". I downloaded the ESPN app, that works fine. I did try what you suggested, powered down both cable receivers and unplugged the Wifi. Didn't help. I also removed the Att Uverse app and installed again.

Thanks

Fred

@ATTHelp Apparently can’t tell the difference between a Uverse settop box and an amazon product.

@frednies I’m not confident much will happen. ESPN has a poor track record with authentication and entitlement checks. More than likely the issue is on their end. There are cases where reboot or reinstalling or relogging can clear things up, especially with the ESPN app, but worth trying.
