When is AT&T Fiber Going to be Available - Things to know from AT&T

Internet_Fiber.jpg

When is AT&T Internet coming to my neighborhood? We're Working On It

AT&T Internet is not available in all areas but AT&T is working to change that! Below, you will find information explaining:

  • why services may not be available
  • other AT&T internet options
  • news about AT&T Fiber expansions

Why AT&T Internet is not available

  1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.
  2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.
  3. The area is not built for U-verse – some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.
  4. Another competitor services there area - This happens from time to time but it does not mean all services are not available to you. Check out other internet options below!

Note: In order to get higher speeds, you must be within a certain distance of the serving equipment or the equipment must be present in the area. Points 1 and 2 apply in these scenarios. If internet is not available, there are other options.

Gigabit Speeds, When Is It Coming?

Check out our coverage map to see where AT&T Fiber is at and cities underway. If AT&T Fiber is available, you can order now!

If your neighbor has AT&T Fiber, we can research your address to see if it's available. Remember, distance and equipment still play a factor as mentioned above.

Heads Up: Some areas, or homes, may not have AT&T Fiber, yet. There a many factors including those listed above. It can take time to build out areas for fiber so please pardon our dust.

Most of those people who process repair orders seem to spend a great deal of their time in office baby showers and going away parties.  I'd try calling them first thing in the morning.  But I, personally, do not plan to call AT&T ever again.

Fantastic!  I do not believe AT&T plans to spend any more of our dollars on improving their infrastructure.  My experience is that AT&T seems happy raking in our money for services which are inferior to all of their competitors.  I wonder if they all have nice Herman Miller chairs and elaborate artwork in their offices.  As for me, my termination order is in.  I'm headed to Charter.

I recently bought a brand new house in a subdivision. As of now there are 40+ houses and have plans to build 30 more. Some of the older houses have att dsl. When I call to get internet, they don't service the area. They closed all the ports for dsl. All the new houses they are building are now having to use satellite(something I will never do). Here it is 2017 and still don't have internet. The subdivision not even a mile down the road has uverse internet. I'm looking for someone to help me get uverse into the neighborhood. I live in Woodlands preserve subdivision, Jackson Ga 30233

Each year I continue my U-verse internet and phone with promise that I will soon be able to get speeds over 6. Then they say cannot get over 6 because of line service to my condo. Is this a misrepresentation? I lived in a long term contract Comcast community, and will switch phone and internet service. Will (after 40+ years) I get a hard time from AT&T?

I can't get high speed internet or fiber in my area and I was wondering how can I request for either fiber, high speed internet or both to be in my area?

I just moved into a new home we built, located in The Galleries in Crown Point, IN.  The only internet service offered is 50 Mbs internet speed. It is slow and varies down to 25 Mbs at times.  When are we getting Fiber? I moved from an area that had Xfinity Internet and the speed was much more amazing. I did not even have to purchase the fastest available. it was reliable and fast. I never had to complain with Xfinity.

AT&T is monopolizing our area, yet not offering the best service possible.

I have had AT&T Wireless service for a very long time. I need to know how soon we can get Fiber Internet service in our area.

Thank you.

When is ATT fiber coming to east Nashville, particularly the 5th and main complex?

I live in Southwind, which is a gated community in Memphis which currently does not have ATT fiber. Many of the surrounding areas have ATT fiber network, but only options for our community are ATT DSL or Comcast. Wanted to find out how we, as a community, could request ATT to come in and deploy a fiber network.

Trying to see what we could do to facilitate this, i.e. :

if we had x number of people sign something saying they would sign up?

could we as a community hire a subcontractor to install the local network?

or any other options I haven't mentioned.

Thanks,

David C.

In McDonough, GA - I'm on a dead-end unpaved road  about 3/4 mile from Kelleytown Rd.  Cable is available on Kelleytown, but not on my road, so only internet options are DSL and Satellite.  My max DSL speed for years has been 3.0Mbps, and AT&T last month downgraded that to 1.5M.  Customer service claims that one additional household subscribed to DSL on my street, resulting in the system not being able to provide the 3.0 speed.  I find that hard to believe - no new houses on my street, only about a dozen houses total.  They did say the monthly charge is $5 less than for the 3.0 - oh boy yay.

The customer service person told me AT&T actually wanted to just cancel all DSL, but FTC wouldn't let them.  The 3.0 speed is not adequate, and 1.5 is useless.  I guess since FTC wouldn't let them cancel, they're trying to get us to cancel ourselves.  Can nothing be done?  If AT&T wants to get rid of DSL, I get that - but have fiber or reasonable alternative (other than cell) in place first.  Internet is no longer a luxury - it's a necessity as much as electricity and other utilities.  Something needs to be done.

Oh, and perhaps the customer service people could stop telling me they also have same problem.

How do I request my neighborhood for an internet service upgrade or at least a review?

I live in a populated area and all we have access to is DSL (up to 6mbps) and it is really slow. My fiancé and I both work from home and we can barely be on the internet at the same time. I have had an AT&T internet tech come out related to our DSL service having issues and I asked him why we don't have it. He did some checking and when he came back to me he said it is a simple equipment swap and the infrastructure/fiber is already there, so he is not sure why the neighborhood only has DSL availability and it hasn't been upgraded yet.

Please help! Who do I call, email, petition, etc.? Thank you in advance!

When are ya'all planning to offer UVERSE TV and high speed Internet to 77494?  I will never put a dish on my house, so currently I am left with no other option than Comcast.  I left them after 25 years due to their poor customer service, and was very happy with AT&T Uverse the past two years until recently when I moved right outside of your service area.  I was forced to go back to Comcast, and cannot wait to leave them again.  Hopefully you are working on that and it will be soon, many of my neighbors feel the same way, but sadly, right now Comcast is the only provider we have here.

I see that my city under the ZIP code of 90247 has AT&T Fiber available but somehow not for my neighborhood. My mom spoke with customer service to upgrade our internet from 18mbps to 25mbps and the lady on the phone stated "You guys have fiber optics installed so i could change the speed almost instantly without you needing a technician." Any reason why 😕 i live up north of my city and this is occuring

Hey there AT&T - I called a couple weeks ago to inquire if the Fiber rollout in Gardena, CA is done or if it is still ongoing, but they couldn't give me a straight answer.  Currently plugging in random addresses to see where it is available tells me it is only available in the 4 most North Western blocks and of course I'm closer to the South Eastern side.  So, am I going to be able to give you some money, and you give me some fiber internet soon?

 Thanks,

Josh
