Not able to access HBO GO using ATT Uverse account

I have recently started with ATT Uverse which has HBO/Showtime included. But when I try to login to HBO GO which is free for users with valid subscription its throwing error. Customer service suggested that this is a 3rd party issue but I read in forums that this has been happening for a while. Please let me know how to fix it.

Have you found a solution to this problem? I am unable to sign into third party apps using my U-Verse ID. There is no reason for me to pay for U-Verse if i cannot do this. I have spoken for hours to customer service representatives all of which have been extremely unhelpful which is not surprising.
