Is AT&T Internet Available at Your Location - Things to know from AT&T

Internet_Fiber.jpg

You Want AT&T Fiber, We're Working On It

AT&T Internet is not available in all areas but AT&T is working to change that! Below, you will find information explaining:

  • why services may not be available
  • other AT&T internet options
  • news about AT&T Fiber expansions

Why AT&T Internet is not available

  1. Distance – AT&T Internet is a distance-dependent service. If you are too far away from the equipment, certain services may not be available. This means your neighbor may have service but your home cannot.
  2. Equipment is not available – To get service, AT&T Internet equipment has to be in the area. In some instances, it isn't. We do not have information if or when it will be.
  3. The area is not built for U-verse – some areas are not U-verse ready. The Community team does not have information if or when it will be. Distance and equipment can play a key in instances like this.
  4. Another competitor services there area - This happens from time to time but it does not mean all services are not available to you. Check out other internet options below!

Note: In order to get higher speeds, you must be within a certain distance of the serving equipment or the equipment must be present in the area. Points 1 and 2 apply in these scenarios. If internet is not available, there are other options.

Gigabit Speeds, When Is It Coming?

Check out our coverage map to see where AT&T Fiber is at and cities underway. If AT&T Fiber is available, you can order now!

If your neighbor has AT&T Fiber, we can research your address to see if it's available. Remember, distance and equipment still play a factor as mentioned above.

Heads Up: Some areas, or homes, may not have AT&T Fiber, yet. There a many factors including those listed above. It can take time to build out areas for fiber so please pardon our dust.

Then why is the lines....i assume are active...in the ground. The farm house I live in is old and believe it was empty when the company put done fiber optic lines.
.... how do I go about finding this?

My current home phone and internet provider has left me very disgusted. The phone service is okay, but the internet speed and connectivity is very poor. It wasn't this bad when originally installed and have been told it's because of number of laptops and iPhones used in residence, but think it's because company doesn't want to invest in adequate equipment. I am a current ATT customer for cellular and have been told they were coming to my area for home phone/internet service, but still haven't and wish they would.

similar question here.   the city of lucas stated that fiber is right across the street from my subdivision. my HOA is willing to pay for the route into the subdivision and almost all the houses want to sign up but we cannot get any one at att to talk to.  20+ homes.  is there anyway you can research this too ?

When will Sault Ste Marie get fiber UVerse? Most people here are on Charter because it's ten times faster than ATT. ATT is still using the outdated copper lines.

I would switch if we ever get good internet here.

We need AT&T fiber optic services in Rockford, IL..  We are potential CUSTOMERS.

HOW SOON CAN WE GET FIBER OPTICS INTERNET SERVICE IN THE ROCKFORD AREA?

[edited for privacy – please do not post personal information] Rockford, IL 61102-1228

So far all my inquiries have yielded  "No, we don't offer service there."

I have just moved from Texas to Oklahoma. In my area, less than 5 miles away you can get Uverse, but where I live you can't get anything satellite internet. How can customer reach out to someone that actual can upgrade a community with DSL or something like Uverse internet?

I live in zip code 74019 and part of Claremore, OK has ATT services for homes and others do not... but I can get an ATT land line. You would think if I can get home phone service I could get DSL.

How can I request ATT service to come to my neighborhood? We just built a house 10 miles away from our previous home which we had ATT. There are only 2 internet providers and 1 telephone provider and both choices are HORRIBLE! Our neighborhood has about 400 homes and rapidly growing. We need ATT!!! Please help!

I live in the middle of a town in CA and the people across the street have fiber for internet, the Wal-mart ON TH SAME BLOCK and the Walgreens and other stores on this block have fiber for internet but you abandoned me to Hughes over-priced tiny data allowance purgatory. Will you ever get your act together and pull it?

We wait, and we still wait but at least one providor is providing us the speed against ATT Internet via copper lines 18 for the most part unless pair bonding to get 45 (I had 45 till I switched).

Grande Communications has officially begun to offer the 1GIG speeds as of this week via DOCSIS 3.1 modem for $70 before tax all unlimited to Little ELM and Frisco services area where its only competition is ATT for the most part ATT Copper lines (sadly) ATT has already run the main fiber lines out side of the neighborhoods as to ATT techs a while back but no fiber run inside the communities yet.

I'm desperately trying to get Uverse and internet service to my new home. Your installer says conduit containing fiber under my street is damaged. WHY WON'T YOU FIX IT?????? I've spent hours on the phone calling customer service. No one will help. I have now filed a complaint with the state public service commission.
