AT&T's liability for damage caused by faulty u-verse installation?
I've gotten nowhere with this through the AT&T call tree and I can't find an answer in the forums, so here goes...
We had an electrical storm a few days ago and it blew the u-verse router. The tech came out and replaced it, but also had to replace the jack which had electrical damage (some charred parts), and we noticed that my non-AT&T phone which was connected into the wall downstairs was dead as well. So essentially whatever was connected to the phone jacks was dead. The tech mentioned that the AT&T u-verse box on the side of the house was not grounded properly and I could possibly make a claim to AT&T for the damaged phone.
Can anyone confirm this? What kind of liability does AT&T have in this case?
Thanks so much!
