AT&T property claims for damages

 PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIMS image001.png

Helpful information to file claims with AT&T

Accidents happen, and we apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing. Whether you need to file a new claim with AT&T or track an existing claim, we’ve got you covered.

Claim Information

AT&T claims are handled through our third-party administrator, Sedgwick.

Note: If human life, health, or safety is threatened by damage to electrical, water, or sewer lines, mitigate your damages by calling your local electrical company or a local plumber to help you with the immediate problem.

Once a claim has been filed, a Sedgwick adjuster will contact you within 3-5 business days to interview you about the incident. Please ensure that you take photos of the damage/ incident.

File a new claim

Call AT&T at 1-800-288-2020 and let any agent know that you’d like to open a new claim against AT&T. They will ask you a series of questions related to the incident and provide you a submitted claim number once the claim is submitted.

Track an existing claim

If an AT&T representative has given you a submitted claim number and you haven't heard anything in 2 business days, or you've already filed a claim and want to follow up, you can go to www.mysedgwick.com and register as a new user using your submitted claim number. You can frequent the site for claim updates and also contact your Sedgwick adjuster.

For damage to yards, plants, or bushes, please call the BWIRE group at

  • 800.924.9420, prompt 2.
  • Hours: 7:30 am - 6 pm ET (Monday - Friday).
  • If the claimant is not an AT&T customer, then call the Telco Repair Group at 866.410.7414.
  • Email:  bwire@att.com.

I am a long term ATT (10+ years) customer with cable, mobile, and internet. In 2016, ATT performed digging in my front yard for the ATT GIGA lines.

Since then, I have had serious problems with a drainage pipe that flows from my sump pump pit to the street, and I didn't know why. This exterior sump pump drains out excess ground water from an underground spring in the back yard near my pool, to the street. When this doesn't operate properly, water fills under my pool liner, disrupts the underlayment, and creates numerous raised creases (See attached pictures). This has happened repeatedly over the last two summers. As a result, the underlayment and liner now has permanent creases and protrusions and needs to be replaced.

Recently when the area backed up again, I hired a company to find out where the apparent obstruction was. They found it. You can see from the attached pictures that the pipe damage is exactly where the ATT cable was laid. That path broke my Sump pump line, and that sump pump has been backing up ever since.

I have tried both of the numbers you listed. ATT is nearly impossible to get a hold of for help. The lack of service by ATT makes my stomach turn. I would love any advice on how to get a ATT Manageon the line.

It is so disheartening to see how AT&T lacks the insight and integrity to improve their customer service.  They now boast a $180.5 billion revenue (includes Warner Media). Perhaps that $85 billion deal that Randall Stephensen made with Time Warner should have been used to include improved employee training and building better customer relations.  Then again, the Department of Justice plans to appeal the decision that allowed the

deal to go through.

AT&T came out to bury their cable that was running through our yard.  They never called JULIE before they dug up our yard, and of course in the process cut our invisible fence.  I have contacted our claim rep 3 times and she has never returned my calls.  I think the claim service is a hoax.

It can be a frustrating process alright! Persistence is the key I think but it’s tough when our lives are so busy . . .
Good luck and I hope it works out for you!

Save yourself the aggravation of trying to get an answer that is not just a
blow off from ATT or Sedgwick.

I am filing suit and naming ATT, Sedgewick, and LanTel the horrible company
that ATT hiring to severely damage my property.

The customer abuse by ATT turns my stomach.

My son had an AT&T communications cable break free from a utility pole and hit his car while he was driving.  This is documented by a SC Trooper who was called to the scene.  Almost $1800 worth of damage.  After hours on the phone we were directed to Sedgewick.  We finally got a letter in the mail stating that AT&T was not responsible.  Basically saying they had no previous knowledge of a hazard and the driver should have been aware of a hazardous situation.  This line broke free off of a pole at least 50 ft. in the air with no warning or even bad weather.  So, I need to know who to send the summons to for small claims court.  Sedgewick will not respond to numerous emails or voicemails. The case # for Sedgewick is 1808000591-01.
