Why are episodes of series missing on AT&T TV or AT&T TV NOW HBO e.g Westworld Season 2 Episode 2

Why are some episodes of series missing on AT&T TV or AT&T TV NOW's HBO e.g Westworld Season 2 Episode 2. Same thing with some episodes of Looking Season 2. I am getting annoyed with this. We are paying for a service but the company is failing us. I want my money back

This a popular topic and I have a bit of insight. 

 

The latest episodes

As the ACEs have mentioned, it can take time to update the On-Demand library. For example, if a show airs on a Sunday, it can take 48 hours or longer to update the library and our teams will work on getting up so you can watch them :-).

 

Missing Episodes 

I have also experienced issues where an episode skips from 1-3. This is NOT normal and our teams need to know about it. Chat with us and let us know what is going on. We will need the exact episode, episode title, and the show for starters. 

 

Heads up: The above information is intended for AT&T TV or AT&T TV NOW Customers.

You won't get your money back, but you are free to cancel your subscription at any time.  Or you could use the HBO Go app (and the other third-party Go/Anywhere apps) that are accessible with DirecTV Now credentials, and which generally have much more complete (and/or more quickly available) on-demand offerings.

You can not use HBO GO with the Direct TV HBO through ATT wireless.  You have to use the Direct TV NOW app and that app is what most people are seeing the issue with. Also this doesn't answer the question of why this is happening.

If you have HBO as a premium on your DIRECTV NOW account, then you can also go to the HBO GO Westworld page (or download the HBO GO app) and sign in using DIRECTV NOW as your TV Provider. Feel free to stream all the episodes from there as we work to get updated on the app.

@somanyquestions - I'm not sure what your post is saying.  The OP was asking about availability on HBO on-demand content in the DirecTV Now library.  While that library is generally pretty good, it doesn't get updated as quickly as HBO's own library, so I suggested using the HBO Go app instead for HBO on-demand.  Is your issue that the HBO Go app doesn't get to use sponsored data on a mobile device?  If so, that is true - though I personally don't really see the point of watching something like Westworld on a tiny phone screen - but I guess different people have different preferences.  And "why" is a question that you will rarely get an answer to.

Many of us just have HBO through our ATT Wireless plan. The Direct TV app
for the phone, tablet or fire stick for example are partial HBO access and
lists. It's a full HBO list we are looking for and expecting. We also have
many episode missing and dont have full HBO access as promised on our
version and sign in.

I have HBO as part of my unlimited AT&T plan so can not watch it on anything but DirecTV Now. Season 2 ep. 4 of West World is missing. There's absolutely no sense in watching a series if episodes are missing. AT&T you're going to lose customers over this.

I also have noticed missing episodes from series seasons. I subscribe to Directv Now and have the app installed on my Roku and Amazon Fire tv. I have it set to record all new episodes to the DVR. I am following season 3 of Animal Kingdom. Out of episodes 1-7, episode 2 and 6 are missing from My Library in the apps and on the website. Why?

It's not just HBO. Other networks have missing episodes as well. Some shows can not be access through a 3rd party app because DirecTV now is not a supported provider (TNT network for example).  Also, telling us where we can go to watch these episodes doesn't answer the question why it's happening or offer a fix for the problem. The original poster is correct in saying that the company is failing expectations. That's just bad business to direct your customers elsewhere instead of fixing the problem.
