Resuming On demand shows where you left off

I am having trouble resuming on demand shows where I left off from watching previously. I start a episode and may not get it all watched. If I am only going a few minutes, I am able to resume the show where I left off. If I am going for awhile and want to resume the show at the same spot, it seems to go back to the beginning. Is there anything that can be done about this issue?

@janefritts,

DIRECTV NOW should be able save your last viewed spot, unless you exit the app (or website if using a computer). Let us know if this helps! We're here for you.

I have been watching My 600 lb. Life and Dr. Pimple Popper. If it has been
awhile since I stopped watching the show, it starts either at the beginning
of the episode or at a spot before the place I stopped watching. I would
like to resume the shows at the exact spot I stopped watching. Does it
return you to the last set of commercials before you stopped watching?

So you are saying you can't exit the app or you will lose your place?

That is contrary to just about every other streaming source out there. It should remember where you are even if you exit the app and restart it later.

Is this the intended behavior? Is it supposed to remember after an exit but that just isn't working?

Could you check on that and confirm? I suspect you may be incorrect and it should remember your position after an exit.

Thanks.

I do exit the app. Sometimes, I start view on my TV and then go back to
resume viewing on my phone. I don't know how I can avoid exiting the app if
I want to use another app on my phone or view another show and return to
the original show later.

Can you let us know what streaming device you're using where you're seeing this happen to you? Also, is your DIRECTV NOW app up to date with updates?

I’m having this same problem on my iPad. I have started a movie over 3 times. It won’t let me fast foward to where I left off. I never shut down the app. The iPad just went to sleep when I paused it to answer the phone this last time. Very irritating.

Soooooo frustrating. I’m having the same problem. I’m viewing on my iPhone. When I exit to answer a text etc. the show goes all the way back to the beginning and i can’t fast forward. Worthless app.

It is really frustrating. I’m watching a 2 hour episode of Married at First Sight from my iPhone. You cannot fast forward this show. I was over half way through and accidentally closed the app. Now I have to start over and cannot fast forward to the spot I was at. Glad this app is free because it’s useless.
