NOW Features, Channels and Devices - When Are They Coming?

FeatureBanner.png

Hi all!

We know our members would like to know when DIRECTV NOW is getting certain networks, when devices like Roku are going to be compatible, and when certain features will be available. At this time, we do not have any information if or when networks, devices or features, like single sign-on, will be added. We can tell you that our teams are continually working on improving the experience for our members!

Below are links that list what current Networks, Devices, and Features are available now. We will keep these sites updated so feel free to check-in from time to time to see if there is anything new!

If you have any other questions, feel free to check out our Help Center.

When we find helpful reference type posts such as this, we're bookingmarking them to a "DTV Now" folder in our browser.  We've also put bookmarks to the Guide, NBC (only available via the Web), and several other pages there.  It is handy for us.

73000-73199 OK FS Southwest N/A Thunder N/A

(For those who don't know what this means, it means according to the PDF found here (https://cdn.directv.com/content/dam/dtv/gmott/buyflow/Regional_Sports_Networks_on_DIRECTVNOW.pdf) I should be able to watch the Oklahoma City Thunder games.

YET, On FS Southwest, it doesn't alternate and will show the normal programming, OR Mavricks games!

OK, so an alt channel was added. And that was FS....Cincinnati! So now I get Mavs & Cavs games!!! No Thunder games. I haven't seen a Thunder game using Directvnow yet. Not one! The hilarity is that even the ones that would be broadcasted on ESPN were blacked out for me, due to it also airing on FS Oklahoma (the alt to FS Southwest!)

I've chatted 4 times now. Each time has been a generic ball of nothingness. Geocode shows I live where I live. Billing address shows I live where I live. I, along with other Oklahomans who signed up for this service, still can't watch the Oklahoma City Thunder!

And the best part? This has resulted in me having to subscribe to Playstation Vue just to get the FS Networks login. So now I have two services, and honestly, Vue is doing more for me than DirectvNow.

I type this not as a complaint, but as a customer who is watching their next bill date of early April approach, and am seriously considering declining. Especially since that PDF states I should be able to view the Oklahoma City Thunder, YET if I were to input my zip code into the RSN finder on the website, I should apparently get FS Southwest and FS Midwest! Oh gee....

It shouldn't be this hard to enjoy a product.

Big difference between using my iPhone and Safari (MacBook Pro). Trying to watch the Chelsea FA Cup match on FS1, Safari gives me the whole "this is taking a long time to load" while I could easily stream on my iPhone via DTVN.

I wound up using my still-active Verizon credentials to watch the 2nd half on Fox Sports website so I could use my computer.

Greetings,

I do not understand how this can be considered a "solution" as it does not give any indication as to when Roku will be available.

I am an IT professional and any project, I presume adding "Roku" support is a project, must have a target completion date; that is project manahgement 101. The closest answer Directv Now customers get is "1st quarter 2017" and I presumte that means on or before 03/31/2017.

Is this still true? Is Directv Now committed to Roku support on or before 03/31/2017?

Please give a clear consise answer.

Thanks

RC

Service still doesnt work in browser. Stick users have a better experience. Still no Roku. ATT not communicating. Assuming DTVNow project has been abandoned.

I wouldn't worry too much. It should be out very soon. Why would you sign up for a service that doesn't support your device anyway?

I don't know, maybe because we can watch it in browser and want to lock in the $35 rate???

That was too hard to reason before you asked?

@DTVNever I wonder if they'll offer the rate again to Roku users. They've got to do something to earn back some good will...

The worst part is the browser never works. I never even use it because I'd rather spare myself the disappointment of it not loading, worse it'll start playing and I'll be watching something only to have it freeze and stop working for hours/days.

As soon as there is a service that offers what DTVNow offers at the same rate (Hulu?) I'll be switching. AT&T doesn't communicate the problems, reliability is not improving. I think they have abandoned the DTVNow project.

Clearly, Apple (and Amazon) cut a deal with AT&T favoring AppleTV and Fire Stick.  They gave away a Free $200 AppleTV 4 for a $105 subscription.  That seems fishy.  It's not any harder to write a Roku channel than either of the others and Roku has a bigger install-base than the other two combined.  They are stalling.

People write Roku channels in their basements.  Plus, Roku has more function (headphone jack in remote, Voice Search, and wireless remote (vs. IR remote) and many more channels than either AppleTV or Amazon.  But Apple and Amazon are MUCH bigger companies than Roku.  They would do -anything- to take market share from Roku's superior product.  The delay of the DirecTV Now channel is just one example.

The CEO of AT&T -publicly- stated--promised--that the Roku  channel would be available "early in the first quarter."  Early in the first quarter is now over.  So, I guess Randall has no power or control over the high-school kids they hired to write the channel, or he was just plain making it up.  There hasn't been ONE PEEP from anybody in AT&T or DirecTV about this since the announcement in November, 2016.  This is typical AT&T performance.  Made a service call on your telephone lately?

@UncleNine "Roku's superior product" don't get that. I have one that sits in a drawer, since I purchased a Fire tv. Will admit the Apple tv is crap.
