Other Recommendation

Per Amazon, turn off Dolby Digital Plus from the Fire TV Menu.

Downloaded the directvnow app, Uninstalled it, and installed it again and I still have no sound on my Samsung GS7Edge. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

There should be a setting on iOS to unmute the app on launch. The web still mutes on launch.

iPhone 6s, tried all the above and the app is still starting with the sound muted and showing the muted overlay icon when starting. I have to keep turning up the volume every time I launch the app! Very annoying to say the least!

HELP!

iPhone 6s, fixed the start muted issue with the setting switch to off. Thank you.

Also it would be nice in the Directv now app stayed running in the background like a video app like VLC, or a music app do you could still here the tv show you are watching while you jump out to check email or other tasks.

Just signed back up for Direct TV Now yesterday...  it seems it barely works...  I typically cast from my phone or my iPad to my recently purchased Sony TV...  either buffering pretty bad with no sound...  or the video is perfect, but no sound at all...  I have checked all the normal stuff...  unmute button, uninstall/reinstall app...  turn TV off and on...  reset router even a few times...  never had this problem with YouTube TV...  EVER...  chatted online to a customer service rep this morning...  do they ever get back to you?  I’m starting to think me coming back was a bad idea...  maybe a different streaming provider...  hope to hear from someone soon...  this stinks

Try disabling anything Dolby-related, go with straight stereo.

I just received my Apple TV with my directv now purchase. I cannot figure out how to unmute the audio. There is no mute button, and I have tried adjusting the volume with the tv remote as well as the Apple TV remote. Help!

Make sure "Settings, Video and Audio, Audio Output", is set to the unit itself (assuming you don't want to send it somewhere else).

Then it should be sent to your TV's HDMI input port, where it's up to the TV set to turn it into sound. Make sure your TV's internal speakers are turned on (assuming you are using them).

Make sure you have disabled any Dolby or SRS functions, DTVN does not support them.

Hello

I have just sign up for prepay Directv now which was already installed on my Samsung TV. The problem I am running into is that I don't have any volume. Can you assist me please.

The only assistance I can give you is to suggest you attach an external streaming device to your TV if you want to use DTVN.

This problem has been reported hundreds of times over the last few months and nothing has happened to correct it.

Peruse the forum and you will find lots of others in your boat.
