How to get rid of "press to see what's on” showing on TV screen

Just updated to the new app and there's a description at the bottom of the screen. The screen is also dark and I think the two things are related. I am using a brand new fire stick to connect.

when entering the menu option go to watch now and choose guide from there.  if you choose guide from top of screen near search option its going to stay there.

It'll disappear within 30 seconds but if you don't wanna wait you can do this,

- swipe down touch pad or pull down the "Info - CC/Audio" menu

- swipe up or push that menu away

( ATV remote )

Press the back button on the fire tv remote. It’s the arrow button on the left side of the home button.

I left Direct TV Now and went to Netflix. Then I came back to Direct TV now and the 'press to see what's on' finally went away and the screen got brighter. Looks to me like a bug.

Sometimes that message doesn't go away automatically like it's supposed to.  Exiting the app and reopening usually solves it but it's definitely a bug.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my TV and that solved it.
