Here are some FAQs you may have:

    1. Who qualifies for the Loyalty Rewards?
All existing DIRECTV NOW customers. If your account was active as of March 6, 2017 you are eligible. DIRECTV NOW accounts in a pending cancellation status as of March 6, 2017 are not eligible.

    2. Will the HBO subscription and $5 off be listed in my payment history?
Yes! You will see your HBO subscription in your Payment History as a $0 charge (Go Big & Gotta Have It) and the $5 credit applied (Live a Little & Just Right).

    3. Can I use my DIRECTV NOW signin information to access HBOGo?
Yes! You can use your DIRECTV NOW signin credentials to access HBOGo.

    4. What if I already have HBO?
Don’t worry if you already have an HBO subscription! For customers with Go Big and Gotta Have It the charge will automatically be credited each month during the 12-month offer. Customers with Live a Little and Just Right the $5 per month credit is applied to the account with the next six month of service! The charge for HBO will resume automatically after the promotions expire.

    5. What if I prepaid for HBO during the device offer for 1 or 3 months?
No worries! The monthly discount will be added at the end of the prepayment period. The discount will last 1 year from the end of your prepayment period. Once the discount expires the HBO charge will resume.

**NEW HBO OFFER ALERT** 3/18/2017

Starting March 18th NEW customers that sign up for service with Go Big and Gotta Have It are eligible to have HBO included at no additional cost for 12 months.

For more info, check out these FAQs:

  1. If I have Live A Little or Just Right today and upgrade to Go Big or Gotta Have It, do I qualify for the HBO Offer?
No, sorry! Existing DIRECTV NOW customers with Live a Little or Just Right packages upgrading to Go Big or Gotta Have It packages are not eligible for this offer.

  2. If I previously had DIRECTV NOW and canceled service, am I eligible for the HBO offer if I restart service and select Go Big or Gotta Have It packages?

Unfortunately, no. Only new customers (have not previously had DIRECTV NOW service in the past 12 months) are eligible for the HBO offer.

  3. If I subscribed to Go Big or Gotta Have It, can I request to remove HBO from my subscription?
Yes. You may cancel HBO at any time. Once you cancel HBO you will not be eligible for the HBO offer if you decide you would like to subscribe to HBO again.

Relax and enjoy some of your favorite shows! Happy Streaming!

I can't imagine they would. I think it compares fairly favorably with other services right now though.

@mankey - Ulimately, that's a decision for AT&T marketing to make, based on what they think will sell more subscriptions.

Personally, I doubt you'll see that specific deal again, as it really was intended to get a big initial subscriber base on launch. That said, you might see variations on the deal pop up here and there. For example, the latest unlimited data plan offer from AT&T includes a $25/month discount on DTVN, which is essentially the same deal as getting the "go big" package for the "live a little" price - but that of course requires signing up for that mobile data plan.

I'd expect more of the same in the future - that promotional rates, etc., would likely be part of bundle promotions, not standalone. But that is just a guess on my part.

If you haven't already found your answer, you will need a device like an apple tv to connect to. DirecTV not yet available through a smart tv.

SUCH A LIE! Maybe if you added the promo to everyone's account that qualifies we wouldn't be charged for it. I have the highest tier plan and HBO added on and was still charged for it.

When were you charged relative to the HBO announcement?  They are crediting accounts going forward (after the announcement), not for past months, but I believe they said for people that had previously subscribed to HBO and paid that they would extend your "free" subscription beyond the year for the number of months that you had paid for HBO.  You may have also been charged for a month between the announcement and the implementation, or you may have been caught by the billing system problems that lots of people reported (and which one assumes they will - hopefully quickly - straighten out).

I just love how early adopters were given a little trinket to make up for all the crap we have been through, and now it is being given to everyone (HBO) Yet we still continue to have issues and problems constantly, the Android side of things is a mess with slow performance and instability. And not to mention the ever changing and frequently disappearing, or never even posted when it should be On Demand content.

We still don't have Roku or Android TV support, no 72 hour rewind, reliable pausing of live tv....

This is way too many issues. NO SERVICE SHOULD BE A PAID BETA SERVICE. I personally am very close to letting my subscription go.

I feel really cheated. I "adopted" (moved from Sling) in early January, with a subscription to HBO. Heard about this program and with lack of details given, figured that since it was being given free, why pay the $5 per month that my account was showing would be charged. So I unsubscribed to HB thinking it would be automatically re-added. What I get for "thinking". Bummer, they tell me, you are not eligible now. So now, yeah...no "early bird" perk for me at all --- plus still NO Roku.

"Customer Service" was extremely unhelpful with this situation!!
