AT&T TV NOW - screen freezing during commercials on certain channels

Is anyone else having issues with screen freeze on certain channels during certain commercials.  It appears to happen mostly on Volkswagon & HBO Max commercials.  On channels like FS1, TNT, TBS, SCI FI, & Paramount (I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones i have noticed so far).  This issue seems to have started this week or very late last week.

Good morning @vesely24,

Thanks for reaching out! Let's take a further look into this.

What devices are these commercials freezing on? Then, have you performed any troubleshooting steps?

This happens to me also ALL the time on the app running on Fire Stick and also the Samsung TV app. Only way around it is to select another channel, then go back. It happens on every ad break.

This has been happening to me for months on fire tv and samsung tv. Usually on every commercial break, and any DVR live sporting event. The only way to get it to work again is to change channels and go back as previously mentioned.  If this happens on DVR I use skip forward then skip back.  I found that if I skip forward then immediately skip back to the same spot it will freeze again. So I have to skip forward watch 3 or 4 seconds and then skip back. But it will always freeze at the same spot if I watch again. This never seems to happen when my wife records the bachelor though, go figure.

Edit: I have tried all the troubleshooting steps as suggested no change in behavior.

I noticed that this started about a week ago.  For me, it's a 'Tampax' Commercial.  It freezes just at the start of the commercial, and I have to exit the channel and go back in.  Then there's a second freeze on a black screen, and I have to follow the same process again.  This is the cycle that has appeared out of nowhere it seems.

I have the same exact problem. The Tampax ad with the caption “ who doesn’t want more” is driving me crazy. I have followed troubleshooting advice with no success. I have deleted and reinstalled the att app, have deleted the att app cache and data in my fire cube settings . No change. Still freezing

I am having the same exact problem as well on multiple fire sticks in my house. Seems to always pause at the same exact point within commercials as well. Please help AT&T. This is very frustrating and is making me contemplate leaving the service all together.

This happens to me. The picture freezes about once every hour but the sound continues. It doesn’t matter what channel.

Okay, I notice out of three fire sticks I own, only one was freezing commercials so after doing everything else possible I wrote down all the apps and passwords on my firestick and restored in back to factory condition. It was a pain, however, it works and now the commercials on AT&T TV Now don't freeze. I realize that no one wants to do this but it did work.

I have done all oneblessedman’s suggestions on all my fire sticks and the Samsung tv app and the problem still exists. If the AT&T engineers need a test case, watch a recording of Formula 1 on ESPN2. Every 60 seconds it will freeze.
