Does your Tablet meet these requirements

What is the model of the tablet?
Of what brand?
Did you do a search for the app in the store? Did it find it? URL is DirecTV Now
That is a pretty old tablet. Almost 5 years old. It just may not be supported with the new app. If you can not find or download it then you can be certain its no longer supported.
Same age as the Acer. If you can't find the app, then tablet is too old.
Not supported. You are running Android 4.2 and you need to have 5.0 or higher.
Two different tablets one runs 4.4.2 and the other 4.4.4 and neither works with Directv Now yet both work with Netflix and Sling.
Is Directv Now ever going to write an app that can run on slightly older versions and above all on rooted devices?
I might understand the old version , but it makes no sense not to allow it to run on a rooted device.
Sure it does. Didn't you know that anyone who would root a phone is obviously a dangerous pirate?
Seriously, that's the way a lot of corporate types think. 🙂
Their documentation states v5.0 or newer. Check here
