Cartoons and Anime

Since there was a discussion on favorite movies somewhere in here which also involved discussions on animated movies (and because I'm a huge sucker for cartoons and/or anime), I wanted to ask you guys about your favorite cartoons and/or anime -- either ones that you loved watching while growing up, or if you're like me, those you still enjoy watching until now. Smiley Very Happy

Scooby Doo. I watched the new Mystery Incorporated and it was really good! Loony Toons and Teen Titans, the remake is terrible

I grew up on Looney Tunes (not the new ones but the old ones where Mel Blanc was still voicing the characters) as well as Tom and Jerry.

I loved the original Teen Titans too.

If there were a list of my go-to cartoons it would be:

> Looney Tunes

> Tom and Jerry

> SpongeBob Squarepants (especially the first 3-4 seasons)

> Teen Titans

> Pokemon (the first few seasons where there were mainly first-generation Pokemon) -- is this considered a cartoon or an anime?

> The Simpsons

> Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Aang  (I still cannot forgive Hollywood for creating a lame *ss remake of The Last Airbender)

> Fairly Odd Parents

CatDog

Cow and Chicken

Adventure Time

Powerpuff Girls (definitely not the remake)

Invader Zim

> The Wild Thornberrys

For anime meanwhile it would be:

> Detective Conan

> Full Metal Alchemist

> Curious Play

I don't know if this qualifies for this topic or not other than it is loosely related to anime, but here it goes...

A few years ago I stumbled upon a female Japanese anime Vocaloid singer named Hatsune Miku.  Even though I couldn't understand a word of Japanese she was singing I thought many of the songs were catchy.  If it were only that I might have forgotten her.  But it was all the technology surrounding her that became intriguing.  I find it amazing how far some of this technology has come.  Below is a youtube link to one of her "live" concerts, all 1 hour 48 minutes of it.  Just move the slider across to sample it.

Hatsune Miku, Magical Mirai 2016 (Hatsune Miku concert)

Some good examples are at (approximately) 3, 28, 40, and the following act at about 44 minutes.  These show Miku and some of her "friends".  I still don't know how one part of this actually works because its proprietary and there's no public documentation on it.  This stuff doesn't appeal to everyone and I guess it might be an acquired taste.  But, hey, the band I think is pretty good!

I loved Looney Tunes and Justice League when I was a little kid.

i dunno if it counts as anime but I also dug Cowboy Bebop, when in college, but mostly for the music, TBH.
