Siren: Replace battery

During the recent power outages of up to 6 hours at a time for over 48 hours, my Alarm system started beeping. I pushed the # key and silence the beeping for awhile. And I replaced the 4 AA batteries.

Now the system say "SIREN: REPLACE BATTERY"

What does this mean? And how do I fix it?

@nmnjpany  Hello. There is a screw there that requires loosening to open the compartment. Below is a video on how to replace the battery which will walk you thru how to remove it.  The equipment is owned by the homeowner so we do not come out to remove equipment.

I chatted with an AT&T employee yesterday.

What this means is that the batteries in  your siren need to be replaced. My siren is placed in the hallway - the representative said that is usually where they are placed.

Check your siren. The batteries in mine were DEAD. Also, check the size batteries in your siren. My needs two CR123A 3V lithium batteries which I have ordered from Amazon.

Also, if you can, login to your Digital Life account and see if any of your "devices" are offline. If they are, check batteries in them too - if they have batteries.

The AT&T employee with whom I chatted was quite knowledgeable.

@patotee   Hello.  @linda951346  is correct. If you log into your Digital Life app and select Solution Center (bottom right corner of the app), it will take you to your devices and show which ones are offline and needing batteries replaced. @linda951346  Thank you for sharing.

I don't have an account, but previous homeowner had AT&T security system - it is chirping like crazy and I can't figure out where the battery compartment is.  I'm about ready to tear the stuff off the wall and throw it in the street!  Any advice on how to find the battery compartment?

If your system is saying "SIREN: REPLACE BATTERIES", see above replies.

If the control panel itself is the problem, the batteries for it are in the control "box."

You can lift the control "box" off the wall mount by gently pushing up on the ridges on either side of the "box." The battery compartment is in the back of the "box." My control "box" uses 4 AA batteries.

If this doesn't help, maybe an AT&T employee will also reply with additional information.

Also, you might try going to ATT.com and see if you can find a "Chat" without having to have an account.

@nmnjpany  The battery compartment for the main controller is located on the front bottom corner. The main controller is normally located in a closet somewhere in the home. You would need to unplug that, open the battery compartment door and disconnect the battery , then the chirping will stop.

@linda951346  Hello. I think you are referencing the keypad on the wall in which we have 2 different models. The 4 AA batteries need to be be NiMH batteries also.

I'm pretty sure it is the large box on the wall, not the keypad - but in meetings the next four hours, so will investigate after work.

Okay, following up on this chirping - the control box on the wall with model DLC-200C and it appears that a bottom "drawer" should open, but I guess there is some sort of latch, because it won't?  Can AT&T just come take away this stuff???
