We are new owners and 1) dont have service and 2) the alarm is chirping and we can turn it off.

@JanBecker Hello. You will need to locate the main controller which will be in a closest in the home somewhere. Unplug it and remove the battery from it ( behind a door on the front) and it will stop chirping.
