Alarm system beeping

My mom's alarm system keeps beeping. AT&T tells her that her battery is dying and that they can't come out until tomorrow to replace it (for which they'll charge her $100). They told her that if she wants to stop the beeping, she can push # on her keypad, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions?

If the message on the display is “Keypad - Low Battery.” then all you need are 4 AA batteries on the back of the control pad.  I wouldn't pay $100 to replace them; I'd get them from anywhere for less than $5.

There are other devices that could have low batteries, but the message should indicate that.

Thank you! We finally discovered that it was the carbon monoxide alarm batter that's low, which is also easy and inexpensive to replace. Certainly less than $100!
