Why do I need a Voicemail password

Why is my voicemail suddenly asking for a password? I don't have one and never needed one, but it's suddenly asking me for a non-existent password.

We can definitely assist you with resetting your voicemail password.

We recommend following the steps at this link to Reset your voicemail password.

First, make sure you're in an AT&T wireless coverage area. If you’re not. you won't be able to create a new voicemail password.

Go to your account overview and open My wireless.
Scroll to My Devices & add-ons and choose the device you want to manage.
Select Manage my device.
Look in Device options & settings, choose Reset voicemail password, and follow the prompts.
