Can’t find government alerts setting on iPhone 11

It is supposed to be under settings> notifications then scroll all the way to bottom to government alerts. I scroll all the way to the bottom but it’s not there. I just got woken up by two (Edited as per community guidelines) alerts that were not emergencies. They just said my state is now having mandatory masks in public. That could be sent at any time via email but they waited until late on a Friday when people are getting ready for be and WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH!

I thought it was a real emergency like a tornado or something and not just some (Edited as per community guidelines) informational alert.

I just upgraded to the 11 two weeks ago and just updated to 13.6 if that matters. I can’t find where to shut that junk off. They should not be crying wolf with these (Edited as per community guidelines) non emergency alerts. I wear a mask wherever I go. I don’t need my phone to go off in the late night to tell me what could easily have waited until the morning.

Greetings @Paladin62!

We understand how government alerts can sometimes be annoying when it blasts your phone. Allow us to lend a hand!

Please know that the (WEA- Wireless Emergency Alerts) system enables authorized national, state, and local governments to send notifications about public safety emergencies to devices in the affected area, when the requirement is needed.

Feel free to review this Apple Support Article for more information and details with turning off government alerts.

We hope this helps, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The link you provided is broken. But as I said ATT has specifically removed the option for government alerts.

I honestly don’t care about any government or emergency alerts. They have misused the alert process. I just want it turned off and I don’t care if I have to sign a waiver or whatever.  Why would att be the only company to block that option?  This isn’t right and needs to be fixed.
