After the last Update, I can't choose music for my ringtone and I can't find any ringtones to choose

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and after the last update, I can no longer choose music on my phone for my ringtone.  I tried to change the ringtone (A&T Firefly) back to the song I prefer to use as my ringtone, but the phone tells me "unable to set as ringtone".  Step-by-step, I go to settings, then Sounds and vibration, then ringtone.  it brings up all my songs that are stored on the phone but no matter which one I choose, it give me the same message.  I don't even get a choice of whether to choose a song or a ringtone and the list is very difficult to read as well.  This means I spent a great amount of time looking for the song I wanted only to be told "unable to set as ringtone."

Anybody have a solution (other than re-set the phone to factory default)?  Thanks!

Hello @donegannash72

Thanks for your post.

We can help you change ringtones. Are the songs on your device, or are they stored in the Samsung Cloud? Are you able to change the ringtone to "Basic Bell" or do you get the same error?

Hi Kenneth,

The songs are on the SD card installed in my device.  When I go to settings and choose sounds & vibration, then choose Ringtone (which is now set on AT&T Firefly) I get a list of Audio Files which are on my phone.  There is no choice given for where to look or what kind of file or anything.  The songs are listed in a very confusing way as well (example: BOOD3SXQPW_(DISC_1)_14_-_3-Way_(The_Golden_Rule...).  So, I don't know what would happen if I chose a different ringtone (no ringtones listed).  I would like to solve this without having to do a factory reset if possible.

Thank you!!
