Sales agent lied to me about veteran's discount

I'm sure this is a beaten dead dog by now. But, how exactly, do you qualify for a veteran's discount? The sales representative told me that as long as I can prove I am a veteran I could receive a discount on my fiber internet and additional discounts if I added other services like TV and voip and cell  phone. This sales rep also gave me a website that does not work, in fact it doesn't even exist! She told me to go www.att.com/militarydiscounts. Or I could just go to a local At&t store and they could apply my discount when I show them my military ID, or Veteran's ID or DD214. I have gone to various At&t stores and spoken to various representatives and they have all told me that the information given to me by said sales person was incorrect and that in order to qualify for said discount I must have all 3 services -Internet + TV +Voip / Cell phone.

I feel I have been lied to because after looking at the numerous postings in the forum, it is clear that I must have a bundle of 3 services with At&t in order to qualify for the Veteran's discount.

This post clearly highlights that you must have at least 3 services from At&t to qualify https://forums.att.com/t5/TV-Internet-Products/Veteran-s-discount/m-p/5893871#M37

Clearly, the sales people are milking this discount to get people to sign up knowing that the information they are giving you is false or simply not giving you the complete requirements so that you do not turn down signing up for service(s) with them and lose a sale. These sales people know very well what they are doing and it only reflects poorly on At&t. I have had At&t Fiber for about 2 months now, and I am not very happy, as soon as my 1 year contract is up, I will dump At&t  as if I have diarrhea, why would I need to stay with a company whose employee lied to me to get me to sign up for a service?

No, that is false and you are either misreading or misunderstanding the referenced post. You can get a military discount on wireless (cell phone) service regardless of whether you have internet or tv service. You do not have to have all 3 services but you must have wireless service to get any military discount. The military discount on wireless is 15% unless you have one of the Unlimited & More plans, in which case the discount is 25%. If you have an Unlimited & More plan, you can also get a discount on internet and/or tv service. Once again, you do not need all three services but to get a discount on either internet or tv, you must have a qualifying wireless plan. Here is the website that explains it: https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/military-discount/index.html

That (Edited per community guidelines) that you have to have wireless to get a thank you discount on Directv for our veterans. We have been loyal Directv customers for years and are paying an outrageous amount for that service and would like to get rewarded for my service to this country and the way you promote it even on the home page makes you think you can get a discount for any service that you have through ATT. We have been told that we finally have ATT wireless at our location but you could not prove it through our phones. We are with Consume Cellular which partners with ATT for towers but our phones still don't work. I am not willing to give up the good rate I get with CC to move my service to ATT just to get a discount on my tv service. Thanks ATT for the No Thanks.

I understand now and I do not disagree with you. However, I never requested wireless service, I was approached by an Interet sales agent from Att who also sold TV for Uverse and Direct TV. It was the sales agent who brought it to my attention saying that there is a discount available. That is why my post. The one who did not read the post correctly was you. It also appears that the experience with this discount differs from customer to customer. However, one thing is very clear from all those making complaints is that they are not Att wireless customers and are being given said information to sign them up to TV and Internet with the sales agent knowing that unless they have a wireless plan they simply do not qualify. The stupid sales agent was able to convince me based on the saving given by the discount because I hesitated on moving from Xfinity to Att. I have no intentions of moving my wireless 5 phone account for $100 monthly with unlimited data + free Netflix to Att who in their right mind would. Hence My post "I feel lied to..."

Fair enough. If you were sold internet or TV service on the premise of getting a military discount and there was no mention of needing wireless service, that is shady at best. So I don't blame you for feeling you were lied to. I only wish to point out that all 3 services are not required. The only service required to get the military discount is wireless and you do not need tv service to get the internet military discount nor  do you need internet service to get the tv military discount.
