Can no longer access email with email clients

I have two att.net email addresses. I use outlook on my desktop and thunderbird for my laptop. Mid last week both email clients were no longer able to access my [email scrubbed] account. I've chenged my password for that account and am able to access my email via the web, but still not either email

Isn't email INCLUDED??

When I had my data plan for my old dumbphones, email was INCLUDED. My husband recently purchased the Pantech Ease with the Unlimited Data plan and when he tries to go to his email, it's asking him to get the Mobile email app for $5/mo???    What's up with this??

Keep getting too many unsuccessful attewmps, care code 203. Talked with support yesterday and was supposed to be corrected.  Logged in again today, same issue....no help in ATT support.  It is a shame that ATT has not addressed issue since our email seems to be the only way to be notified
