Can’t use third party apps on my Roku, even though I am a ATT Uverse subscriber.

I am an ATT U-verse subscriber. Anytime I try to use any third party apps on my Roku (such as The Food Network or TBS), I am told that “The content is only available to viewers who receive the channel as part of their paid TV subscription”. I do pay for these channels, and I get the on my cable TV,
