Device Access Code for NVG589

I am trying to bridge a Linksys router to my NVG589 router to see if it improves the slow performance of the NVG589, but when prompted for the Device Access Code, I put in the code that is clearly written on the side of the router, and it says "Device Access Code Incorrect".

Discount for using your own router?

I know the new Fiber setups come with a single modem/router but hypothetically if I had my own modem/router that was up to par with the needs for the fiber line, would I be able to receive a lesser price? The price for the equipment is included in the price so I would assume at the very least a $10
