Directv Now and home phone

If I enroll in Directv Now, must I also ask ATT for a landline phone?  That is, I am currently using U-verse’s triple bundle which provides VOIP phone service.  Do I LOSE phone service with Directv Now, as I do not see any mention of a ‘bundled’ offering that included phone service?

Update 2015-02-23 to S4 caused phone to stop working

AT&T Phone not receiving phone service, cannot call/text

Hi. I've been having this problem on and off for a week or so know where for periods of time (1-4 ish hours) my phone just does not receive phone service, and I cannot call/text anybody.
