What are the steps to update my LG G3 D850 device software with a non AT&T sim installed. The unblocked device software status is D85010d while the android version is 4.4.2

Over the past few weeks I've received notifications to update my software several times a day. I've tried it a couple times and the installation always fails. After reading some of the other posts about this, it looks like I have the most recent software update. How do I turn off the software update
