Smoke Detector in the hallway chirps periodically then quits

We just had a Digital Life system installed about a month ago. The smoke detector on the ceiling in the hallway will chirp once every so often .. it will then repeat this single chirp every minute or so but only for 3 - 4 times. Then it quits and might not do it again the rest of the day. Very odd.
