Prepaid reactivation period after not paying

I have a prepaid phone number for which I get charged by each call/message. If I am not enrolled in autopay and I forget to do a payment I know that my number will not be active. My question is, how long long can I go without paying so that I don't loose my phone number? Or does it remain my number

If my data usage exceeds 2G, do I pay extra or just have a lower speed?

Isn't there any other way to get refund without the wireless number?

Hi I bought the prepaid sim card at Berkeley at&t house. I thought it is prepaid sim card which is already charged and if I used all of my data that I paid, it's just done like any other prepaid SIM card. I used it during summer time 2019 for about 2 or 3 weeks and came back to Korea at AUG,16,2019.
