I changed the messages settings to turn off group messages, but they still appear as grouped. I would like to see the messages as separate, in chronological order.  How to fix, please?

Does my new 12-months of prepaid service begin only once the new SIM card is activated?

I have been in the US for a year so using a ATT prepaid service, paying monthly with autopay. I am returning to the UK this month so need my phone plan to be cancelled.
