Wifi calling is bugged on Note 4

Wifi calling is bugged on Note 4.

Have talked to 5 tech supports with no solution:

1. Verfied network settings in phone are correct.

2. Tried multiple wifi connections and multiple 4G lte areas.

3. Emptied Cache in phone.

4. Reset phone.

5. Started phone in safe mode and tried.

Last resort is do a Full factory reset and try but I do not want to do this on my phone as I have 25 gigs of data and it is time consuming.

Issue:

Trying to do "getting started" on Wifi calling.

Shows wifi calling logo and I hit "continue".

Gets to agreement page and I hit "continue"

Says: " Oops! That wasnt supposed to happen. Give us a minute we'll get it fixed so you can try again. (EDS0060) Retry"

Everything works flawlessly on phone for 2.5 years I've owned it. Tech support says "it's the phones fault" but I do not believe this is entirely true. Every function and multiple other wifi calling software works perfect. There is obvious issue with setup software and it has a bug preventing my phone from regestering. Please fix this bug.

This was sent to address specified. Android version : 6.0.1
Last 4 of build : EPK1

Will also add that my account was changed because of other error initially when trying to register with WiFi calling. This change got me a little further to the new error I am at now..

Had some help from a GREAT Tech Support agent (Shenoah)... and she sent me a new SIM Card. She said my SIM Card had an error on it. Problem is now fixed!! Horray! Thanks all 🙂

Okay, so this is funny. I must almost be there.. But not quite. I now get to enter my address, click "Use this address", click "OK", then get the message "Wi-Fi Calling activation is in progress. Please check again later. Look for this icon in the status bar; it lets you know your calls are going over Wi-Fi", Click "Done".  I never see the Wi-Fi calling symbol appear. I have tried multiple times to activate. I have tried restarting phone. I have only tried on my Wi-Fi network but will try different network tomorrow. So close!! Also, get a activation failed message about 5 minutes after submitting the address.

Hello again @rbenn674!

Thank you for updating us on this Wi-Fi call issue! I am glad to hear Shenoah was so helpful in regards to the problem.

When you first attempted to set up the Wi-Fi calling, were you using the same address which is on your account? This may be causing issues with setup. Also, remember to be connected to LTE, and in LTE coverage when you attempt to setup the Wi-Fi calling.

Have you tried to also setup the call feature while connected to another network besides your home network? If the issue is only occurring with your home unit, you may want to restart your home internet modem.

We look forward to seeing how this works out for you! Happy New Year!

Hello there @rbenn674!

It’s nice to hear from you again, I appreciate your prompt response regarding this matter.

I did a bit of research regarding the setup history, at which point we will now need to perform a factory reset on the phone. Since the Wi-Fi call feature was added to the account, the next step is to set up on the phone. This would be the last step to try in order to attempt activation of the Wi-Fi calling.

Please check out our helpful Device Support tool. Select your make and model phone, click on “View all Tutorials”, then select “Troubleshooting” to backup data and reset.

Let us know how it goes! We are always here for any assistance and guidance.
