why wont my Galaxy S7 Edge (sm-g935a) update to Android 7.0?

I have tried the usual go to check for updates in the settings menu, but it always says up to date. Is my phone ineligible for the update? Or is there a way for me to download it manually somehow?

Good Morning @SmileyPants17,

Thank you for bringing your update question to the Community Forums. It’s my pleasure to help you with the answer!

There is an update available for your Galaxy S7. It is the Android 7.0 Nougat update. It was released on February 1st. If you are not seeing the update in your settings, you also have the option to visit a Best Buy for their Samsung Experience where they can flash the update for you.

Please let us know if this helps you receive the current update. Have a fabulous day!

I have been having the same issue. Best Buy does not have this update yet on their laptops to flash to my phone. My phone will not update and I have been tryino everyday since it was released to at&t galaxy s7 edges. I work for the company and have been updating everyone else's phone, but mines will not do it. My mom's phoen even updated and we are on the same plan. I guess my phone just does not want to update.

Good Morning @jp1997

Software updates are certainly one of the best features to receive on your device! I completely understand how important it is for you to keep your device up to date. I’d love to get this answered for you!

Each new version is pushed through the network to the device. A great option is to restart your phone, and see if this prompts a new update. Our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool is an awesome resource for making sure your device is all set for the update, and also steps to complete it. Please make sure the make and model matches your device, and select Device/software issues > Software update.

I hope this helps! Have a great rest of your day.

My phone still has not updated. I've taken it to best buy and they did not have the update to be flashed to my phone. I think it could be a network error.

Hello @jp1997,

Thank you for the update! I apologize the previous steps did not resolve the issue.

Is the phone connected to Wi-Fi when you try to update it? Software updates are pushed out over Wi-Fi connection so it won’t use up your data allotment for the month. What is the message when you try to update? If it says there is no update available and you have already completed the steps in the Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool, the next step would be to do a master reset on the phone.

Before doing the master reset, I would recommend creating a backup first.  You can get fantastic step-by-step guides on how to create a backup at our Device Support Page! After selecting your phone’s make and model, please go Tutorials > Backup & Restore > Select your preferred backup method.

Once you have created the backup, please go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All.

I hope this helps! Have a wonderful day!
