Why is Car Mode or S Voice Drive Mode Missing on Note 4

Why is Car Mode missing from the Note 4? I get that you are trying to push your app and reduce people texting while driving but in removing this feature from the Note 4, you are actually promoting that bad behavior.

For those of you that dont know, Car Mode would read your texts messages to you while in your car. So no need to read them or even look at your phone. It would then offer you the option to respond using your voice or call the person. Again, no need to look at your phone or even have it out of your pocket for that matter.

I dont think that ATT should be making the decision on the customers behalf. Leave the feature in and let people opt out of texting on their own, in any form.

If you are going to that extreme, then why dont you automatically, without customer feedback also disable the ability to receive or send out texts when the person is traveling more than five miles per hour?

I also posted about this here, I am pretty upset as well. It was a nice feature. That and Audio out from USB without the need for a DAC was pretty cool too.

Yes, it is found in the T-Molbile version. ATT got rid of in an effort to push their own car mode. This was something I mentioned with the S4 as well when it was updated. At that time both Samsung and ATT confirmed it was removed per ATT request.

This is a dangerous move. This will encorage people to text and drive. I can see the lawyers commercials now....

And yet another reason not to purchase my phones directly from a cell carrier.
Thanks for the heads up.....

Ditto, this is irresponsible and concievably akin to censorship.

AT&T has disabled features from their phones for awhile, I use hands free mode everyday and am disappointed that att has decided to disable this feature to promote something that is inferior. Att disabled the use of google wallet for a long time and blocked the secure element in samsung devices since the s3 or s4. I feel this is anti-competitive and ruins some of the reasons to buy the phone. I keep expecting them to disable access to google navigation in favor of their own app too. The drive app states that certain contacts and music is just one touch away... I thought the entire point was to not touch the phone while driving. Then they disable the feature that allows no touching of the phone. this is not safety minded. It is just att thinking they know what is best. If anyone from AT&T is listening... you don't want us to root but keep giving us reasons to. Start giving us reasons not to root.

Found and working Car Mode on Galaxy S6. Doesn't have quick toggle, doesn't auto read like s-voice and handsfree mode did.(Have to tell it to read the message everytime) but it is the stock S6 Car mode, May also work on the Note 4 and S5. Confirmed also works on S4. (S4 handsfree and s voice still works on lollipop though) PM for details.
