Unlocking Device

I bought thr phone "unlocked" on amazon but it came with AT&T service on it. I followed the unlock steps and it said it was confirmed and accepted. I tried to unlock it to no avail. Is there something that I'm doing wrong

So you filled out an unlock request form, did you verify your email? Have you received a second email with a 16 digit unlock code?

Tried how?

You said you bought the phone unlocked just because it had At&t service doesn’t mean it’s locked.

Hello Jayjaythelegend, we're here to help get your phone unlocked.

Make sure your phone meets all the device unlock requirements prior to submitting your request.

  • Check your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates on your request. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm request in the email we sent you.
  • Or you can go to att.com/deviceunlock/status and follow the prompts.

If a phone is purchased from a non-AT&T authorized dealer, third party sellers or sites like eBay, AT&T may be unable to unlock the device. Before purchasing the device, make sure the seller performs the unlock request.

In some instances, you will have to contact the seller to perform the request. If the device was purchased by another provider, they should have online resources to unlock the device.

Let us know if this helps, and thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.
