Unlocking a Samsung phone

I have a Samsung A157V. I have received an email from AT&T stating that my unlock request has been approved; however, there is no code listed in the email. I have the IMEI and Request #. Thank you for your help.

You will have to contact AT&T directly by chat or phone.
I was hoping this problem had been fixed because the portal was down for a weekend for maintenance. But it seems like AT&T is still getting the same complaint.

I submitted another request. Hopefully they send me a code this time.

Greetings @SWI4692,

We recommend you submitting a device unlock request through the device unlock portal.  Once you submit the request again you should be able to get emailed a code.

I have submitted the second unlock request. Will follow up once they respond.

My second unlock request was approved. Again, there is no code in the email. What can I do? Perhaps more information is necessary. I bought this phone from a Goodwill. It was in its original packaging (which led to my decision to purchase it). When I put the factory sim card in the phone, I checked to see if a phone number was listed. There was none. When I go to Phone Information under Settings, underneath My Number:, it states No Number. Please help.

Thank you for the additional information provided @ SWI4692!

We're glad to here the phone was approved to be unlocked the second time!

Please know that since the Samsung A157/A157V flip phone was released to the public around 2012, the unlock code may no longer be supported or available. It is recommended to contact Samsung Support to see if the specific unlock code still exists.

We hope this information is helpful, and thanks for reaching out to the community!

I chatted with Samsung. They told me that only the carrier can unlock the phone. What should I do?

Circular file or turn in for recycling.

Arg. I should have looked up the model.

At&t will not have unlock codes for 2G only phones. You would have to pay an unlock service, and they may still not be able to supply it.

Even if you can unlock it, its unlikely to work anywhere in the world
